Missed call text back for plumbing companies

A customer calls about a leak. You're under a house. We text them right back.

Missed call text back for plumbing means one simple thing: when you can't pick up, the caller gets a text from your business within a minute, so they hear from you instead of dialing the next plumber on the list.

You're under a house, in an attic, or arm-deep in a drain, and the phone is in the truck. A person with water on the floor does not leave a voicemail and wait. They call the next name. Truckbell closes that gap.

From $149/month. Keep your number. Set up and tested on your phone by a person.

In 10 minutes we check your Google listing and reviews, then show you what your missed calls cost.

What happens when you miss a call

STEP 1

Your phone rings like it always does. If you answer, nothing changes.

STEP 2

If you don't pick up after about 15 seconds, the call forwards to your Truckbell line before your voicemail answers.

STEP 3

The caller gets a text from your business within a minute.

STEP 4

They reply, and it lands in one inbox on your phone. You get an alert, and you answer when your hands are free.

Here's what it looks like for the customer:

Your Plumbing Co.Business texting line

Every first text includes "Reply STOP to opt out." Carriers require it, and it keeps your texts from being flagged.

Built around plumbing calls, not office phones

  • Emergencies first. A burst pipe and a repipe quote are different calls. The first text asks what's going on and whether water is actively leaking, so you know which call to return first.
  • Bursts of calls. Some weeks everyone calls at once: a cold snap, a long rain, a holiday weekend. You don't set anything up for those weeks. The same text works all year.
  • Estimates and bigger jobs. A water heater swap or a remodel rough-in is worth a lot more than a quick fix. A fast reply keeps you in the running while the customer is still comparing.
  • Your software stays. If you use Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan or similar, keep it. Your software runs the schedule and the invoices. Truckbell covers the moment before a job exists: the call you couldn't answer.

Keep your cell number. Here's how it works

Most owners don't want to change the number on their truck, their cards and their Google listing. You don't have to.

  • Calls still ring your phone first. Customers dial the same number they always have.
  • Unanswered calls forward after about 15 seconds. We set the timing so your carrier's voicemail doesn't pick up first. If voicemail answers before the forward, no text goes out.
  • The text goes out from your registered business texting line. That's the number customers reply to.
  • Moving your number over completely is possible, but it takes a few weeks, so most owners just use forwarding.

Setup takes about three weeks. Here's why

US carriers require every business that sends automated texts to register first. It's called A2P registration, and it's how carriers tell real businesses from spam. Approval usually takes a couple of weeks.

What you'll need:

  • Your legal business name and EIN (your IRS business number).
  • Your business address.
  • A website with privacy and terms pages (if you don't have one, we can help).
  • A few minutes to verify your identity with a photo ID.

What we do while you wait: we build your texting line and inbox, then call your phone and miss it on purpose to check every step before it goes live.

Already using plumbing software? Many packages sell their own phone or texting add-ons. Ask what they cost and who sets them up. The difference with Truckbell is that a person sets it up, tests it on your phone, and is the one you call when something breaks.

Plumbing questions

Can I keep my cell number and still get missed call text back?

Yes. Your phone rings first, and only unanswered calls forward to your Truckbell line after about 15 seconds. Customers keep dialing the number they already have.

How fast does the text go out after a missed call?

Within a minute of the call going unanswered. We test the timing on your own phone before launch.

What does the text say to the customer?

Your business name, a short note that you're out on a job, and a question about what's going on. It ends with "Reply STOP to opt out." We write it with you during setup.

Will it text someone twice if they call twice?

We set it up so a customer who calls back a few minutes later doesn't get the same text again. We test this before launch.

Does it work with Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan?

It works beside them. It doesn't replace them or connect to them. Your software runs the schedule and the billing; Truckbell catches the calls you miss.

How long does setup take?

About three weeks, mostly waiting for carrier approval. We build and test while we wait.

Is it OK to text someone who just called my business?

The text only goes to people who called you, it comes from a carrier-registered business line, and every first message includes a way to opt out. We set it up to follow the carriers' rules. If you have a specific legal question, ask your own attorney.
